仕事柄なかなか親に合えないことと絵を描きたいという気持ちから、30年前に絵手紙を送る。
母が喜んで捨てずに所有していたのが絵手紙。
淡彩画に伝えたい言葉を添えて近況などを書いている。後に出版される「お母さんへの絵手紙」（日貿出版社）の製本へのきっかけとなる群馬日産社個展（1994年）開催時には、多くの来場客が作品を鑑賞して感動した。
Because of my job I was unable to visit my parents frequently and from the feeling that I wanted to draw, I have been sending picture letters since 30 years ago.
My mother was quite happy with them and had kept them without discarding them.
I wrote down things that I wanted to say, such as recent events, and included them as part of the wash drawing. During the Gunma Nissan’s Solo Exhibition, which was held in 1994 and became the catalyst for the publication of “Okaasaneno Etegami” (Japan Publications,Inc.) later on, numerous visitors came to see the picture letters and were well received.
